Community Programs

Community Driven Programs have several major benefits:

  • They are relevant and respond directly to needs identified by the community,
  • They can improve participation and commitment among community members which is more likely to result in community change,
  • They are flexible enough to allow for unstructured experimentation which may lead to more structured community programs.

At Good Beginnings' our community driven programs:

  • support families and communities in their efforts to raise their children, respecting racial, sexual, religious, cultural and socio-economic differences,
  • identify and build on strengths while acknowledging that each community has its own unique circumstances,
  • facilitates the development of strong links between local organisations and advocates on behalf of families and communities.
