For Parents
Good Beginnings' parenting courses are community based, open to all children under school age and their parents or carers, and offer a range of support, including:
- a meeting place with an informal atmosphere where parents can get to know each other and form relationships
- playgroups where children and their parents and carers are encouraged to participate in play experiences together
- written and verbal information, advice and, if needed, referrals relating to child rearing, parenting, child health and child development issues
- informal and parent-led education and support groups that respond directly to parents’ needs.
Good Beginnings' Parenting Courses fall into 3 categories:

Activities
Biginini Play Resource
Parents and carers in the Katherine region who are isolated are offered opportunities for peer support and participation in their children's early education.

Group programs to assist parents with new babies. Some individual support also provided.

Positive Parenting Program
Triple-P is a system of easy to implement, proven parenting solutions that help solve current parenting problems and prevent future problems before they arise.

Territory Parents Support Group
TPS is a weekly support group for new mums run over a six-week period, and delivered by Good Beginnings in partnership with the Maternal Child Health Nurses.
- Enhance parental capacity by increasing each parents knowledge and understanding of their infants growth and development.
Palmerston Family Connect
In partnership with the Early Childhood Australia and Danila Dilba, Good Beginnings brings together a range of services aimed at ensuring children and families have the best possible support for moving forward in their community.

Troubleshooting (Women’s Self Development Group)
This group is fantastic for women who are looking to gain a new skill while focusing on their strengths. We look at different cultures and the role of women around the world.
- Build on individual strengths to enable women to support others.
My Time
A support group for families with a disability or chronic medical condition.
- Share experiences in a safe and friendly environment.
- Program set by the participants

Lapsit Literacy Group
This is a literacy program for parents to sit with their child/ren and interact with books.
- Promote a healthy interest in literacy from an early age.
123 Magic Parenting program
1 2 3 Magic is a popular international parenting program that helps parents to stop unwanted behaviour, start desired behaviours and strengthen their relationship with their children.

Tuning In To Kids
Tuning into Kids is a parenting program that helps children learn to understand and regulate their emotions.

The Gathering Place
The Gathering Place is a before school meeting place that is open every morning for two hours to all Indigenous families.
- To gain skills and build participation in the school community
Anangu Pitijatjara Yattalunga Parent Participation in Schools
This activity explores common myths around school engagement for families from the Anangu Pitijatjara Yattalunga lands and builds capacity for engaging with their children's school.
- Provide strategies to enable effective communication between parents and the school. Parents will also have the opportunity to develop ways of encouraging their children to attend school.
Dads Connect
Children deserve and can benefit from a positive consistent male adult in their lives. The relationship between a father and his child grows through frequent positive contact as part of familiar daily routines.
- Aim to raise men’s awareness about parenting and help prepare them for their role as new parents. For first time fathers who are participating through hospital antenatal sessions.
